Praying for the 2023-24 School Year

The Lusby Charge assembled at Patuxent High School and Appeal Elementary School to pray for the children, youth, teachers, bus drivers, and staff members for a safe and productive 2023 and 2024 school year.

Wreaths Across America

On December 17 community volunteers laid wreaths on the graves of veterans interred in the St. Johns Cemetery, as well as at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Solomons M.E., Olivet, St. Pauls, and Middleham as part of the Wreaths Across America program.  These wreaths are placed in memory of our Nation’s veterans.  This year volunteers laid $2.7M wreaths at over 3,500 locations throughout the nation and around the world on the graves of our nation’s veterans.  The wreaths  are placed at Christmas to remember the fallen, many of whom no longer have living friends and family left to remember them and the lives they lead and the people they impacted.  To honor those who served and their family members.  To teach the value of freedom and its costs. Feeding the hungry around the globe, St. Paul UMC hosted "Rise Against Hunger" food packaging event on April 1, 2023 along with volunteers from the community and many other churches, including Eastern and St. John UMC's.
